Cincinnati Animal CARE asks for help to care for horses from equestrian facility
Cincinnati Animal CARE is asking for the public’s help after seizing 18 horses from a local equestrian facility earlier this week.According to a post from the organization, the horses were taken into foster care on Aug. 12 after requests to check conditions at the facility, which was not identified.Humane agents with Cincinnati Animal CARE found almost two dozen horses in distress, the post said.Two of the horses were surrendered to a rescue and unfortunately, one of them collapsed upon arrival and was humanely euthanized.The other 18 horses were taken into foster care, with many underweight and in need of “safety and compassion,” according to Cincinnati Animal CARE.The organization says an investigation is ongoing and set a goal to raise a minimum of $25,000 to provide resources and medical attention for the horses.“We may not be able to show you their faces, but we promise you this: they are safe, they are in expert hands, and with your help, they will never go hungry or unprotected again,” Cincinnati Animal CARE said in the post.For more information on how to donate, click here.
