Walmart Business Unveils New Products and Services to Support Small Businesses

In a recent survey commissioned by Walmart, 97% of respondents spend time on administrative or operational tasks each day, limiting their ability to devote that time to the growth and expansion of their business. With that in mind, Walmart Business is unveiling various new product and service offerings to help small businesses (SMBs) and nonprofits accelerate their operations.

“As we listen to and work alongside our SMB and nonprofit customers, we will continue to deliver the right products and services at the right prices to our customers and save them time, money, and hassle at every step along the way,” said Ashley Hubka, senior vice president & general manager of Walmart Business.

These new offerings are highlighted by the Walmart Business App, making Walmart’s diverse product offerings available to members with the click of a button. Members can also access flexible receiving options, including one-tap check-in for curbside pick-up at more than 4,700 U.S. locations and direct-to-office delivery scheduling.

Multi-user accounts are available, with organizations having the ability to have five team members sharing one account. Other added services include:

  • Streamlining the ordering process to accommodate larger orders by simply typing the exact number needed into the quantity field.
  • A partnership with Angi that gives business access to highly-rated professionals working in their community, providing services ranging from shelving installation to office furniture assembly.
  • Tracking capabilities and data analytics concerning spending habits, helping businesses make more informed budgeting and buying decisions.

With its creation six months ago, Walmart Business was developed to help nonprofits and small businesses reduce expenses, providing members with everyday low prices on millions of products while providing efficient delivery and pick-up options. Members have access to over 100,000 items tailored based on the needs of their business, including office supplies and furniture, restroom, electronics, classroom, food and beverage, and facility needs.

Walmart Business + membership, costing $98/year, plus tax, will continue to provide previously announced member benefits, including free shipping, two percent rewards on orders of $250 or more, and savings of 5% on eligible items set to subscription.

Walmart recently offered special incentives to small businesses during National Small Business Month in May, providing a $50 e-gift card to any business opening a Walmart Business+ membership during May.

The retailer also hosted webinars providing tips and insights to help address operational challenges small businesses are currently navigating.

Walmart has also continued to expand Walmart Marketplace, providing SMBs and nonprofits greater access to third-party sellers with Walmart, expanding their product offerings.

In April, the retail giant launched a new design for their website and mobile app, hoping to provide a seamless shopping experience that was fun, fast, and accessible. The design drew comparisons to Amazon with a product-focused design highlighted by larger images and enhanced product categories.
