Victam LatAm attracts 8,000 attendees

SÃO PAULO — The second Victam LatAm and first Feed Formulation Latin America brought together more than 250 exhibitors, 350 brands and 8,000 visitors from 30 countries from Sept. 16 to18 in São Paulo.

In addition to the trade fair, the program featured more than 80 hours of technical content that included conferences and seminars led by national and international institutions.

A highlight was the new Feed Formulation Latin America, an international technical congress focused on technology, equipment, ingredients and advances in feed formulation for the industry. Another parallel event was Grapas LatAm, dedicated to flour milling and grain handling, featuring conferences and around 100 exhibitors from the segment.

“The expectation for 2025 was to further strengthen connections between equipment manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and the animal nutrition industry in Latin America,” said Sebas van den Ende, general manager of VICTAM Corporation. “The goal was to create strategic connections between different markets and boost the animal nutrition sector in Latin America.”

Feed Formulation Latin America was organized by the Feed Technology Institute (FTI), created by Evonik, a German multinational and global reference in animal nutrition additive; dsm-firmenich, a Dutch-Swiss company specializing in nutrition, health, and biotechnology; and Nutral/UFPR, a Brazilian academic center dedicated to research and innovation in feed formulation.

The program also featured the Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS), an international association that promotes global standards for responsible soybean production. The organization hosted a block of conferences Sept. 17 to18, bringing together producers, companies, and social organizations to discuss traceability, regenerative agriculture, and international regulations such as the EU Deforestation Regulation.

Another highlight was a conference organized by Embrapa, which brought together five of its research units: Fisheries and Aquaculture, Soybeans, Goats and Sheep, Swine and Poultry, and Embrapa Maranhão. Roberto Manolio Valladão Flores, researcher at Embrapa Fisheries and Aquaculture (CNPASA) and conference coordinator, said the theme was “animal nutrition for sustainable and resilient systems,” in alignment with the institution’s preparation for COP30 — the UN Climate Change Conference — to be held this November in Belém.

“We wanted to show how research can contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening sustainability in different production systems,” he said.

Several awards were also given, including the Feed Formulation Latin America Innovation Award 2025, which recognizes the best feed formulation products on the market and also milling practices for both feed and flour that, in addition to seeking quality and efficiency, take into account energy use, environmental impact, and carbon reduction.

The Feed Formulation Innovation Award was won by Gradefeeds (Benin) and IFF (Germany). The Best Practice Feed Milling Award went to the Brazilian company Grandfood, with an honorable mention for C.Vale. The Best Practice Flour Milling Award recognized Moinho Globo Alimentos, also from Brazil.

The exhibition showcased machines and technologies for animal nutrition, milling and grain storage. Companies from Europe, Asia, the United States and Latin America presented equipment such as extruders, mixers, silos, drying systems, coolers, bagging machines, dosing systems, sensors and industrial automation software. The solutions covered different species — including pet food, poultry, swine and cattle — and production profiles.

The pet food segment also had a strong presence, with exhibitors focused on formulation, functional additives for dogs and cats, digestibility and extrusion. The growth of this segment reflected the continuous expansion of the pet food market.
