PawCo introduces Magic Cookies | Pet Food Processing
SAN FRANCISCO — PawCo Foods has expanded its Magic line with the launch of Magic Cookies, which are human-grade, functional dog treats formulated to support specific health needs. The cookies are designed to provide pet parents with a healthy, nutritious, crunchy treat to reward good behavior.
Suitable for all life stages, Magic Cookies are available in five different versions, including Original, Gut Health, Heart Health, Skin & Coat and Hip & Joint. All of the treats feature a base of oat flour, peanut butter and apples, as well as targeted ingredients.
Targeted ingredients include yeast fermentate in the Gut Health formula to deliver beneficial metabolites to the gut; taurine in the Heart Health formula to support a healthy heart, sharp vision, strong muscles and overall vitality; and marine microalgae oil in the Skin & Coat and Hip & Joint formulas to help reduce skin inflammation, strengthen the skin barrier, and improve hair follicle health, as well as help reduce joint inflammation, support cartilage health and improve mobility.
“While a lot of dog brands claim to be healthy, their nutritional labels are still very long and filled with questionable ingredients,” said Ryan Bouton, vice president of growth for PawCo Foods, in an exclusive interview with Pet Food Processing. “Each Magic Cookie is hand-crafted and baked — they never touch machines — with only a handful of ingredients you actually know and recognize.”
The treats contain no fillers or additives, using natural preservatives from plants like tocopherols and rosemary extract to protect the fats in the peanut butter from spoiling over time. The company shared that it partners with transparent suppliers to ensure the quality of its ingredients.
According to PawCo, the cookies’ production process includes robust food safety protocols, such as personal protective equipment (PPE), sanitization and temperature control, as well as strict quality control procedures, including precise measuring, standard shaping, product testing and traceability.
Offering the cookies to various dogs that visited PawCo’s booth during SUPERZOO 2025, the brand shared that they were a huge hit among the pups, as well as their owners due to the similar smell to human cookies.
While this launch marks the end of the PawCo’s Magic line, the brand teased a new Super product innovation expected later this year.
