A Tennessee animal shelter has found a creative way to help one of their four-legged residents find their forever home.

The Collierville Animal Shelter believes one of their Australian Shepherd mixes strongly resembles Ant-Man star Paul Rudd, 53, whom they called upon to adopt the pooch.

The 2-year-old, 65-pound dog is nicknamed Pawl Ruff, but also goes by Waffle House, according to his adoption listing.

‘While making love connections between pets and people today, we discovered one of our dogs is meant to be with Paul Rudd. We have nicknamed him Pawl Ruff,’ the Town of Collierville shared in a Twitter post to the actor.

‘Paul doesn’t have a Twitter handle, but @AntMan does. And honestly, what is more heroic than adopting a shelter pet?’ the post added.

According to the adoption listing, Pawl Ruff is ‘independent, affectionate, and quiet.’

‘Like Mr. Rudd, I’m a gentle, easy-going fella, the kind of guy you want to be your neighbor, best friend, or life long companion.’

‘Maybe I really am the canine version of Paul!’ the listing playfully added.

The organization stressed that Pawl walks well on his leash, is potty-trained, does well with bath time and loves playing with other dogs.

The pooch was brought into the shelter in January, according to Manager Brandon Wallace who spoke with CommercialAppeal.com

‘Waffle House has shown he can be quite the goofball, but also extremely charming, which does describe many of the characters Paul Rudd’s portrayed,’ he said.

Though the shelter received several applications inquiring about adopting Pawl, none of them were from Rudd himself.

The adorable dog’s adoption fee is $50.00, and those interested can fill out an application on the Town of Collierville’s website.

Rudd already has one adorable pup and has been frequently seen taking him for walks.

The actor recently reprised his superhero role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The film had a strong opening weekend, leading the box office with $104 million in domestic box office revenues.

The first Ant-Man came out in 2015, and was followed by sequel Ant-Man And The Wasp in 2018.

Rudd recently revealed he trained non-stop for 12 months to prepare for 2015’s Ant-Man, getting down to a lean seven per cent body fat.
